Lindy’s Bakery, Daybreak’s gourmet dog treat bakery and social enterprise, is looking for unique professionals with dynamic energy to work as Bakery Production Assistants. Two (2) positions are available, 7:30am-3:30pm and 9am-5pm.
Lindy’s Bakery provides paid transitional job opportunities for youth ages 16-24. The youth hired to work in Lindy’s Bakery may have personal barriers that include: homelessness, a disability, a history of behavior problems, a history of substance use, and/or other personal barriers that make it difficult for them to secure and maintain traditional employment. The overarching goal of the program is to provide these youths with a supportive work environment where they can develop the soft and hard skills necessary to secure and maintain outside employment.
Bakery Production Assistants are primarily responsible for:
· Large Scale Dough Mixing: Requires the ability to follow recipes, weigh and measure ingredients, operate commercial baking equipment, and provide quality control for dough consistency.
· Production Line: Requires the ability to operate commercial bakery equipment; provide quality control for shape and size consistency, and to maintain a steady production rate.
Successful candidates must be detail oriented, have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, be flexible, punctual, energetic, personable, dependable, and be able to create relationships with clients without breaching boundaries.
Desired: Associates Degree with at least 2 years of steady work experience. (Training on specific bakery job tasks and duties will be provided.)
Both positions will require long periods of standing and the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
