A. Engineer Qualifications - Levels 1, 2, and 3
Level 1 (Entry Level) – Bachelors degree in engineering OR mathematics/physical science degree with an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate. Two (2) years of direct experience in a relevant engineering activity is required.
Level 2 (Journeyman Level) – Bachelors degree in engineering OR mathematics/physical science degree with an EIT Certificate. Seven (7) years direct experience in a relevant engineering activity is required.
Level 3 (Senior/Lead Engineer) – Bachelors degree (Master of Science preferred) in engineering OR mathematics/physical science degree with an EIT Certificate. Ten (10) years direct experience in a relevant engineering activity is required.

Engineer, Electrical Systems – Level 1, 2, 3 (see A above for basic qualifications)
Progressive experience in design and development of engineering projects required. Must have experience and skills necessary to perform the following tasks: a) provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems; b) perform in all phases of hardware development, integration/implementation and analysis; c) participate in hardware evaluations; d) perform finite element analysis and modeling; and e) develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed.
Must have progressive experience working in a military or commercial aircraft environment, and have the capability to make real-time engineering decisions as issues occur on the production floor, while ensuring that aircraft safety, certification, and configuration control is maintained. Must be able to easily distinguish between engineering issues that do, and do not, affect aircraft safety. Must be able to interpret Air Force Technical Orders and aircraft electrical modification drawings and designs from various OEMs and in various formats. Must be able to generate Engineering design, test, evaluation, and drawing/redlines that document design and modification changes, while strictly adhering to the existing Data Management (DM) process. Must be knowledgeable in the operation and the integration design of aircraft systems, such as power distribution, radio communications, radio and integrated navigation, flight management, electronic warfare, forward looking infrared, weather radar, and aerial refueling. Must have experience in troubleshooting and testing aircraft systems. Must have experience in the development of cost estimates, integration design, cable routing design, electrical manufacturing design, and acceptance test procedures for new aircraft modifications. Must have the ability to develop aircraft modification drawing packages in compliance with ASME Y14.100. Must have experience in the development of technical reports, and the ability to develop comprehensive and accurate technical documents.
