This person will be responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers involved in product development of electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical instrumentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical and commercial leadership to the hardware, software and firmware team.
Effectively communicate project status and progress against milestones to key stakeholders. Creates and tracks Performance Indicators of department and report results.
Work with Project Leaders to analyze complex problems and help them identify creative, logical, and effective solutions.
Coordinate the development activities with other commercial and operations groups to maximize the success of development projects.
Collaborate closely with Product Management groups to reconcile market requirements with technical product specifications.
Work closely with Operations and Service to transition newly developed products into Production.
Support strategic and business development efforts for business unit.
Ownership of R&D Product Development Budget for project and personnel expenses.
Manage formal staff development and appraisal procedures.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, Master’s preferred.
Five (5) years or more experience with product development of analytical instrumentation or a combination of education and experience
Three (3) years or more supervisory experience with internal and external resources
Demonstrated project management and organization skills
Demonstrated abilities in product design and development of commercially successful products
Experienced with Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent ECAD systems, preferably DxDesigner and Teamcenter required
Experienced with Engineering Change Management systems and processes
Hands on knowledge of analytical, electro-mechanical, and opto-mechanical instrumentation.
Ability to travel internationally up to 15%
