JRI is hiring an energetic, committed medical/psychiatric team to provide primary health care and psychiatric care to youth in custody of the Department of Youth Services. Located in the DYS Western region of Massachusetts, the RNs will provide coverage at two secure residential sites for adolescents in Westfield or Springfield and three stand-alone residential programs.
JRI is hiring full time RNs for primary health care roles. These can be shared or part-time roles to fill full-time day and evening commitments. The RNs will provide primary health care for adolescents at two DYS secure and 3 residential programs with the opportunity to share clinical responsibility with the team of APNs and RNs, Medical Director/Physician and a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist; backed by JRI’s extensive statewide team of medical, clinical, and psychiatric professionals. Working with APRNs and M.D.s, the RNs will be responsible for ordering and administration of medication, triage, scheduling of all medical appointments and as appropriate, providing medical input for multidisciplinary treatment teams in structured, collegial settings.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, Bachelor’s preferred. Licensed by the Massachusetts Nursing Board of Registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in provision of medical care to emotionally challenged adolescents preferred.
- Knowledgeable in adolescent growth and development
- Ability to meet DYS and JRI background and driving check requirements
