Essential Job Responsibilities
Represent Company as the primary customer interfacetechnical projects.
Identify customer needs and expectations and respond to them in a timely and effective manner while
maintaining the correct balance between external and internal customer requirements. Ensure timely,
accurate, and successful translation of product design requirements. Validate all product designs and
design changes with appropriate engineering analysis and testing. Provide support for process
engineering and quality engineering during manufacturing development and launch.
Monitor and control objectives, costs, and timetables.
Ensure internal and external design development requirements are met relative to design goals,
product cost, and delivery schedules. Support the management on product designs, prints, bills of
materials, engineering analyses, prototyping, verification activities, and validation activities in terms of
specifications, resources, timing, and costs per the program objectives.
Plan, organize, and direct technical work involving new and existing product design and
Collaborate with Program Management and functional engineering groups to develop achievable
project timelines that support customer deliverables. Define internal requirements for functional
disciplines in order to achieve design goals. Verify successful product development against internal
and external standards or requirements via engineering analysis, prototyping, benchmarking, and
testing. Ensure manufacturability and optimization of product designs through design reviews, things
gone wrong reviews, and design for manufacturability reviews. Ensure customer satisfaction by
meeting deadlines, managing product changes, while optimizing product cost.
Participate as an integral member of the Engineering Team.
Adhere to and maintain quality system requirements. Participate in ongoing development,
communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Coordinate work to
ensure best practices with all team members. Attend appropriate team meetings. As a member of the
Engineering Team, foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan,
budget, policy changes, etc. Accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas lacking cohesiveness,
bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to
resolve issues effecting cohesiveness. Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to
achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Provides local support for various customer activities
Coordinate and support PDTs, Design Reviews and DVP&R meetings, communicate prototype
vehicle timing requirements, order and track part deliveries, perform and support plywood buck and
vehicle software checkout.
