The Process Technician performs all the tasks associated with injection molding processes and associated equipment following the standard operating procedures. This is a technical role responsible for rapid mold changes, equipment start-ups, and handling process and equipment issues. The successful candidate will ensure that all equipment is fully functional and operating at top efficiency and quality; skillful troubleshooting, diagnosis and corrective action are required for success. This position also assists the Shift Team Leader with safety compliance and training and serves as a leader for the entire team in the absence of the Shift Team Leader. Your work hours will be from 11 p.m - 7:00 a.m.; overtime as needed.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Safety- ambassador for near miss program, risk assessments & tool box chats
Responding to help lights, pages, alarms and down machines
Monitor and document critical processing parameters to ensure adherence to production specifications.
Execute and provide leadership to the team during line changeovers, start-ups and troubleshooting
Order lengths may be of short, medium or long duration requiring frequent change in set up and variation in cycle, adjust set up and process operations accordingly.
Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the injection process.
Actively and constructively partner with line inspectors and line packers to ensure quality and productivity goals are met on each shift.
Perform quality check as outlined per inspection papers and Team Leader instructions
Document and escalate any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment via Process Tech Log
Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste or rework in the process.
Follow standard operating procedures and or instructions from Team Leaders.
Achieving daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives through collaboration and teamwork
Driving forklift as needed to transport molds, material, equipment, etc...
Ten years of experience in injection molding
Familiarity with IATF 16949, Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
Adaptive, flexible, self-directed and able to handle ambiguity.
