CBS This Morning is seeking a supervising producer for its 8am hour. I deal candidate will have a strong background in journalism and exceptional television production skills. You will help manage a team of producers and editors as they cover pieces for CBS This Morning that vary from news of day, medical, consumer, financial, and lifestyle. You will work with correspondents to edit scripts and develop story pitches. You will communicate with the senior production team, including the executive producer. Candidates must be decisive multi-taskers who are recognized for their journalistic judgment and ability to remain calm in high-pressure newsroom environments. The position requires a broad and current knowledge of national and world events as well as strong writing and editing skills. The ideal candidate is a leader that inspires teams, both on-the-air and behind-the-scenes, to perform at their highest levels while meeting strict deadlines. The ability to communicate with other managers and producers across the news division is essential. This position requires an understanding of newsgathering and broadcasting technology. An ideal candidate will constantly be seeking ways to innovate. You will strive to find new and compelling ways every day to generate ideas for original content.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 8-10 years experience working in news and/or production experience High level of competency in writing and producing Ability to work under deadline Ability to recognize stories with a high potential of producing compelling television; deep knowledge current events Exceptional understanding of broadcast and video production Exceptional writing, organizational, time-management, and planning skills Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require Demonstrated ability to make editorial decisions under pressure \#LI-LB1
