Animal Care Quality Specialist at Clemens Food Group

About the Job
Country View Family Farms is currently looking for an Animal Care Quality Specialist to monitor and improve our program. This position will contribute to the Country View Family Farms and Clemens Food Group Teams by conducting animal welfare and quality audits, delivering hands-on animal handling training and by actively participating in program support. A successful candidate will be able to work independently and maintain objective judgment. They will also need to be able to work with groups, on the live side of production and at the processing plant, to collaborate and provide feedback.
We are looking for a candidate who is eligible to receive and maintain PAACO (Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization) certification. Applicants do not need to hold a current certificate. The ideal applicant will be willing to travel frequently with occasional overnight travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct and provide feedback on internal animal welfare, transportation and biosecurity audits
-Coordinate and attend all 3rd party audits
-Deliver hands on training to growers, barn team members and live haul drivers
-Participate in meetings, committees and initiatives
-Serve as a resource to all hog suppliers
Experience in a meat harvesting facility is highly preferred
Must be able to become PAACO Certified. PAACO Certification Requirements:
-B.S or higher with relevant livestock experience of 3 years within the past 5 years
Or
-Associates degree with relevant livestock experience of 5 years within the past 7 years
Or
-High school diploma with relevant livestock experience of 10 years within the past 15 years
