- Teach courses in civil engineering technology and lower division engineering technology related to transportation, construction, environmental/sustainability, and/or other related fields.
- Develop a scholarly research program incorporating undergraduates
- Develop an externally funded research program
- Work with the faculty of Civil Engineering Technology to prepare for ABET accreditation
- Serve the College and community
- Other reasonable duties as assigned
- This is a Tenure track position
Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization, and have a record of outstanding academic and scholarly achievements. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching and a commitment to develop a vigorous externally funded research program. The candidate will be expected to teach in at least one civil engineering technology concentration area and the lower division engineering technology curriculum.
Preference will be given to candidates with research experience, teaching experience at the collegiate level and a strong background related to and capable of supporting SUNY Poly's emerging interests in manufacturing engineering, nanotechnology and the biological sciences. It would also be expected that the successful candidate's research interests would complement the interests of existing faculty at SUNY Poly. Candidates should be able to support a breadth of disciplines within civil engineering technology. Candidates should have the ability to become licensed professional engineers.
