Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures of wood and wood substitute items, such as concrete forms, bracing, scaffolding, panels, decks, falsework, etc., by using carpenter hand tools and power tools.
Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to, the following:
Plans new or modified structures to minimize waste of materials.
Reads blueprints, sketches or plans to determine materials required and the dimensions of the structure to be fabricated.
Performs layout accurately, using a rule, framing square, plumb bob and level.
Safely operates power saws, grinders, roto hammers, power drills, Hilti guns, burning torches, impact wrenches, table saws, chains and cable jacks.
Installs various concrete form ties and accessories.
Shapes, cuts, drills, handles and erects heavy treated timber caps, clamps, stringers, decking, etc.
Rigs property to move from one place/position to another.
Placement of heavy loads with crane assistance or other special lifting devices with knowledge and use of crane hand signals.
Sets an example in observance of Company policies and procedures; including safety.
Attends any safety or training classes as needed and provided.
Performs other job related duties as may be required.
Integrates safety rules, policies and practices in all work elements; installation, movement and storage.
Prevents and/or corrects unsafe conditions as the need arises.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Brings problems to the attention of the Foreman, Area Manager and/or Safety Department.
Care and Maintenance of tools and equipment
Furnishes and maintains a tools to safely and efficiently perform work.
Cleans and maintains all tools and performs user maintenance as needed.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or two (2) years related experience and /or training; or equilvalent combination of education and experience. Trade school certfication or demonstration of previous experience.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a physical/drug screen.
Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Indentification Card (TWIC)..
