Duration: 6 Months
Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials. Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Daily schedule: 8:00-5:00
Typical Day: Would have to check NDI board- checking purchase orders, releasing PO’s. Work through possible upcoming supplier issues and shortages. Will need to be able to work with suppliers on issues.
Team environment: 80%Office 20% on the floor.
Selling points of role. Potential conversion if earned. Will work in an operational excellence type role for continuous employment which can be a big resume booster. Joining a team that is looking to be innovative as possible. To be able to successfully manage through supply shortages would be a big resume booster as well.
Experience: Previous buyer/planner experience- 1 year minimum
Degrees: None required.
Best Vs Average: Multiple years of previous buying/planning.
Electronics would be a plus and someone with a Lean background would be a big plus.
Also has experience in various manufacturing roles.
