JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The basic function of the Construction Manager (“CM”) is to coordinate, manage and track construction activities of multiple self-storage developments and large-scale capital projects throughout the southeast. The CM will work with general contractors, vendors, design team members and governing officials to effectively deliver quality projects on time and within budget.
The CM will be responsible for construction activity schedule preparation, regular site visits, project team meetings, detailed daily correspondence with general contractors, as well as schedule and budget tracking/reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, be self-motivated, attentive to details and diligent.
The Construction Manager is selected by, and reports to, the Director of Development.
Experience: 2 years of construction coordination, management, scheduling, procurement or estimating experience desired. The following required.
Highly organized and attentive to details.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
Experience and ability to establish and track project schedules through Smartsheet, Excel, Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to successfully communicate with general contractor liaisons, vendors and governing officials as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience in establishing project budget estimates via RFP solicitations.
Travel will be required for the position.
The Construction Manager receives from the Director of Construction the authority necessary to control his/her activities.

Execute semi-autonomous project tracking, coordination and reporting on multiple commercial real estate construction projects.
Assist with and coordinate special pre-construction and construction projects as directed by the Director of Construction.
