Responsibilities and Qualifications
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Cancer Registry including Mercy Ada cancer registry databases. Responsible for oversight and coordination of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation standards for the Mercy Hospital Ada Cancer Program. Assists in developing, coordinating, and implementing new policies and procedures to enhance the Cancer Programs function. Is responsible for monitoring the registry data quality including the training of Non-CTR staff seeking certification. Is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all regulatory and educational requirements for the National Cancer Registrars Association, the Commission on Cancer and Oklahoma Registry are being fulfilled by all registry staff in support of the cancer program. Works independently, uses good judgment and shows initiative. Is self-motivated, has integrity, and takes pride in achievement. Education: (Minimum Requirements) Associate or degree (or equivalent) in healthcare related field
Licensure: (Minimum Requirements)
Experience: (Minimum Requirements) 1-3 years experience in leader role in Cancer Registry department/section
Certification/Registration: (Minimum Requirements) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)
Other skills & knowledge: (skills, knowledge, abilities) (Minimum Requirements)
Proficiency with cancer registry database software program.Ability to understand, apply and use medical terminology.Computer skills - strong word processing and data entry skills.Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reportsAbility to set prioritiesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionDetail-orientedEffective written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
