This is a critical leadership role in Engineering and Advanced Programs and Technology (AP&T). You will direct, coordinate and lead a large body of technical work across a very broad portfolio of programs and initiatives in the area of PTMS. United Technologies is a leader in developing and maturing advanced capabilities for future military platforms and the demand on propulsion system for aircraft cooling, power generation and other thermo-electric technologies is growing at a bold pace.
In this exciting position you will be responsible for leading programs ranging from advanced military proposals through applied engine demonstrations and product transition which involve:
- aircraft cooling systems;
- engine cooling systems;
- propulsion system integration with aircraft;
- power generation, delivery and management;
- electrification and hybrid electric concepts; and
- advanced controls and controls logic.
While representing Pratt & Whitney, you will work with other divisions of United Technologies, including United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) and the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) in the planning and execution of these programs. Advanced programs also involve close collaboration with multiple military government customers, including the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), and the various weapons systems contractors with whom Pratt & Whitney teams. You will provide regular visibility to internal senior leadership as well as external customers and will influence business strategies that Pratt & Whitney and United Technologies will employ in continuing to grow its leadership position in military products and applications. In this role you will collaborate with the Director, Advanced Military Programs.
Qualification: To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience: Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
- A government secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Only US citizens should apply.
- 10+ years of industry experience with a consistent record in PTMS and/or the specific disciplines that comprise PTMS including one or more of the following areas:
-Engine cooling systems involving air, fuel and oil systems;
-Propulsion system integration with aircraft;
-Aircraft-engine power generation, delivery and management;
-Electrification and hybrid electric components and systems;
-Advanced controls and controls logic Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in Engineering and/or research specialization are urged to apply
- Experience serving in a leadership role
- Ability to lead teams with varied strengths, tackle complex problems and management projects effectively
- Excellent Judgment and professional maturity
