Construction Team Lead
Lead a crew of employees in servicing and repairing modular buildings. Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew. Verify quality according to company standards.
Duties/Responsibilities of Position:
Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign tasks, learn/train as needed, and verify quality according to standards.
Perform preventative maintenance and construction on modular buildings to include, but not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and cleaning.
Monitor the work of team members to meet productivity, quality and safety requirements.
Ensure team maintains tools, supplies and work area consistent with the area's 5S checklist.
Actively participate in safety meetings and safety training of crew members. Carry out current industry safety practices to include knowledge of OSHA requirements. Conduct daily and weekly safety audits and document results.
Coach and counsels team members as needed with regards to responsibilities of their positions.
Acts as a back fill for other leaders when necessary.
Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required:
Able to effectively lead a team and offer guidance and direction
Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures and Company specific work orders, work instructions and floor plans provided;
Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines
Deliver a high quality output consistent with the Company's construction standards
Able to take, record and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities
Prior experience of at least 4-6 years in the construction or related industry performing and leading crew of 6 or more general construction trades required.
Able to read Company's construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish preferred, not required
Prior experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other specialties preferred
Knowledge of current building codes to include 2010 CBC and 2001 UBC and ADA a plus.
Knowledge of LEAN a plus
Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blue prints a plus
Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects.
