Nutrition Services specializes in outpatient nutrition counseling on pediatric nutrition issues. They also provide inpatient assessments and education as well as some on-going support with outpatient follow-up. Nutrition is an essential part of healing for all of the patients who receive care at Children’s Minnesota, and we need your help as a Cook to ensure everyone gets the nourishment they need.
This is an entry level Cook position that will work at our Minneapolis hospital. This is a great opportunity for someone who is excited to learn new cooking techniques and styles, as well as advance their career in a supportive and growing organization!
Main responsibilities include:
- Preparing and/or serving food for patients, families, visitors, and staff at the hospital.
- Ensuring that food for patients is developmentally age appropriate.
- Ensuring that dietary restrictions and guidelines are met.
- May help in the operation of food service equipment, cash handling, dish-washing, grill service, and general cleaning as needed.
NOTE: This is a part time position (benefits eligible) that will work a combination of day and evening shifts. This position also requires the employee to work every other weekend.
- Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Certification from the National Restaurant Association within 60 days of hire.
- Must have previous dietary experience and a minimum of 1 year of cook experience, but prefer 2 years.
- Cash handling experience optional.
