This person will be a member of a team, which has the responsibility for the planning, management,
construction and maintenance of computing facilities and associated infrastructure.
This position is directly responsible for the operational maintenance and construction of the building
infrastructure and associated systems that directly support the highly specialized and
mission critical computing facilities. These systems include, but are not limited to UPS and DC power
systems, building security systems, power distribution systems, mechanical, plumbing and other
systems commonly found in a data center environment. This position shall coordinate and oversee
maintenance and construction activities necessary to maintain and/or upgrade the building
infrastructure systems to ensure maximum uptime for internal and external customer equipment that
resides in these facilities.
This position shall coordinate and project manage work performed by vendors, contractors and
maintenance staff to ensure that work is clearly defined, method of procedure documents
are developed and vetted with key stakeholders and that contractual and/or other obligations are met.
This position will be required to develop and maintain accurate records that clearly identify system
architecture, capacity levels, and maintenance and refresh cycle data. This position will be required
to participate in decisions that could affect both short and long-range requirements concerning a
This position shall participate in and respond to administrative projects, including --
providing estimates, design, budgeting, project management, and subsequent maintenance of
systems in accordance with SLAs etc. Take responsibility for planning and foresight on how to best
utilize all facilities. This would include but is not limited to evaluating and recommending changes
to how facilities are built and configured, working with clients on the strategic
distribution of equipment and services, determining how facilities are used in support of disaster
preparedness and recovery and insuring adequate capacities and redundancies are provided for the
