Assembles and installs proper tooling
Sets-up press equipment to proper dimensions based on blue print requirements
Performs “1st piece inspection. Ensures accuracy and performs quality checks to ensure criteria specified in the shop orders and/orspecial instructions are achieved
Provides approval status for operating equipment
Provides support to press operators and other production personnel whenever quality or production errors occur
Runs presses in the absence of operators
Participates in continuous improvement processes individually and with teams
Operating of hand tools (e.g., grinder, clincher, hammer etc.)
Operating of automated equipment
Other duties as assigned by management
Reports directly to the Punch Supervisor
Perform various physical duties as assigned, including but not limited to assembly, sorting & staging
Adheres to the Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions
Practice good housekeeping and ensures safety of self and all personnel
This position requires pushing/pulling and lifting/carrying between 10 and 50 lbs repeatedly, the position requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching and squatting.
Able to read, write and communicate in English
Basic Math skills required.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1 year in mechanical disciplines related to die setting or 1-year die setter experience preferred.
Knowledge of and ability to use basic tools and measuring devices (squares, clamps, grinders, tape measures etc).
Understanding and interpretation of blueprints and drawings
Must be able to read a tape measure to accuracy of 1/16th.
1-2 years’ experience in working in manufacturing environment
