The Director of Design Enablement will develop new optical components as part of the base offering for AIM Photonics. Applicant will be a trained photonics designer with either university or industrial experience developing photonics integrated circuits. A proven track record of designing silicon photonics circuits is an essential part of this position. The applicant must be able to work with design customers, fab engineers, and the component library team to develop new circuit elements or structures that will enhance the AIM photonics offerings. Other reasonable duties as assigned.
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND 5 years" experience relevant professional industry experience.
OR M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND 1-3 years" experience relevant professional industry experience.
OR Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND approximately 2 years" experience relevant professional industry experience.
SUNY Poly is a multi-client, consortium environment, and the successful individual must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment is a must. Candidate must exhibit solid leadership ability and be willing to execute a variety of tasks on short notice. Good program management and interface skills are essential. Must have knowledge of MS Office, DOE, yield/defectivity analysis software, FEOL and BEOL integration. Must also have the ability to travel as needed for program needs.
