The Victor School is a therapeutic day school program for students ages 12 - 22 in both middle and high school - focusing on 6th – 12th graders between the hours of 8:30am – 3:00 pm. Students attending TVS are working to build social emotional skills to assist their goals for their future.
The Education Director is responsible for supervising the provision of quality special education services for the school, and is responsible for ensuring that the services specified in each student’s IEP are delivered. This position also functions as a member of the school leadership team, providing input into problem solving and at an individual student and larger program level design. This position requires a candidate who works well with a flexible workflow, able to multi task with ease while maintaining a high attention to detail, possesses strong organization skills, and diverse interpersonal skills to meet the wide variety of needs between the education team, student individual needs, family, school district, collateral contacts, and The Victor School support team.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties;
- Coordinate all aspects of the IEP process in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate all MCAS administration and testing requirements.
- Create positive working relationships with all outside agencies.
- Attend all meetings designed to develop educational and treatment plans, as well as schedules for staff and students.
- DESE Compliance and monitoring and coordinated program reviews and mid-cycle review process.
MEd or MS
Massachusetts certification in special Education or SPED Administration
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in special education programs preferred
Minimum of three years as a special education teacher
Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory experience
Authorized MCAS administrator preferred
Driver’s License required
