About The Opportunity Position Summary Designs, plans, and implements regional human resources programs and policies, including staffing, compensation, benefits, visa/green card processing, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs. Ensures compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies and programs. Essential to this Position
Key Duties And Responsibilities: Support multi-site manufacturing and distribution facilities; located in WI and IL Manage local site HR professionals Advise managers on policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, employee benefits, and employee relations issues Maintain a working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations to ensure local compliance with federal and state laws Maintain accurate data within the HRIS system and employee files Manage local staffing initiatives including planning, recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring, and new employee orientation Coordinate cross-organizational training and manage local training initiatives Administer benefit, leave, vacation and employee assistance programs Prepare and monitor Human Resources budget for local operations as directed. Assist local leadership in employee development, workforce & succession planning
Essential for Success: Proven leadership in labor relations, including grievance and arbitration administration and contract negotiations Experience working in a union environment is necessary Minimum of 8 years of experience in progressively responsible HR roles, specifically from within a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of FMLA and the related policies Knowledge of packaging or printing industry preferred General knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor laws Ability to travel up to 25% Education / Certifications Education Required Bachelor’s Degree Education Desired Bachelor’s Degree Other Certifications Required Or Desired CHRP Skills & Experience Work Experience Required Minimum 8 years of relevant experience required Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired Knowledge of major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the Human Resources (HR) function or department; ability to use and administer the organization's HR policies, strategies and environment Knowledge of and ability to use the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies relevant to human resources management Knowledge of national, provential, and local laws and ability to advise on laws and regulations affecting HR practices Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives Knowledge of and ability to plan and develop an organization's HR operations in order to increase individual and organizational effectiveness Knowledge of and ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure smooth daily HR operations About Menasha Packaging Menasha Packaging Company is a leading designer and manufacturer of graphic consumer corrugated packaging, merchandising solutions, food packaging, shipping containers, material handling solutions, and pack-out and fulfillment services.
