We are seeking cleared or clearable Embedded Software Engineers2 or3 who are self-motivated, energetic individuals with a background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline who are interested in providing solutions to national security threats.
Successful candidates will participate in a broad range of applications with exposure to a variety of programs that provide critical solutions to U.S. government agencies and the Department of Defense. Consequently, we are seeking engineers who already have security clearance, or those who are readily clearable.
The selected engineer will:
Develop solutions for national security threats, creating products that may involve networking and communication
Design, develop, operate and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied
to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements.
Develop analytical tools and numerical modeling of complex systems.
Develop kernel level programs in C/C++ for Linux and Windows internals software and systems
Work with various multi-disciplined product development teams to develop software systems and tools, participate in
technical reviews and provide customer support.
Generate applicable documentation
Interface with customers, program management and technical staff
Provide problem resolution and improvement recommendations
Occasionally travel to Northrop Grumman and Government locations within the United States
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled at either a level2 or a level 3.
BQs for a Software Engineer2 are:
BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related STEM discipline with2 years of experience OR a MS degree.
BQs for a Software Engineer 3 are
BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related STEM discipline with 5 years of experience OR a MS degree with 3 years of experience.
Experience in design and programming with C and/or C++.
Experience with software engineering and architectural concepts, security principles, and tools relevant to integrated development.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
Strong analytical coordination, organization, teaming and communication skills
Experience with ARM, Intel, and TI DSP architectures and VxWorks, embedded Linux or other real-time embedded operation system.
Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, and Ethernet communication protocols.
Experience with kernel level programming for Linux and Windows internals software and systems engineering experience.
Experience in military engineering, military software development, communication system or radio systems.
