The Department of Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center seeks new physicians to join their growing team. Ideal candidates will receive an academic appointment and the opportunity for professional growth and non-clinical time. Shifts are 9 hours in length with the replacement physician coming at hour 8 to allow 1 hour of overlap. There are currently 72 hours of physician coverage per day, 33 hours of scribe coverage and 16 hours of NP/PA coverage which allows average physician patient per hour of 2.05. This position provides a competitive market base salary with potential bonus incentive of up to 30% of base salary. Faculty members receive full benefits, CME reimbursement, malpractice insurance and a robust retirement package. Candidates must be an Emergency Medicine residency-trained, board certified/eligible physician.
The Rush ED sees 72,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art facility. The team trains rotating residents from multiple specialties, medical students and PAs and recently launched a new residency program. The ED is supported by social workers, a chaplain and a child life specialist in addition to consultants representing all specialties in medicine and surgery who take 24 hour call for the ED.
