Systems Engineering performs technical planning, requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Considers both business and technical needs of the program and operates as an effective project manager who integrates all necessary disciplines and specialty groups to define and balance system performance, cost, schedule, risk, and system security from concept to production.
Responsible for executing all Systems Engineering work scope to meet program requirements and objectives within defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. Performs scheduling, forecasting and cost reporting and analysis on assigned programs. Travel is occasional to support technical reviews, meetings, and working groups.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline
At least 5 years of industry experience with BS degree or at least 3 years of experience with an MS degree
Proficient with MS Office applications and IBM Rational DOORS
Experience in development/management of: CONOPs, system design, system architecture, proposals, and requirements
Ability to multi task and balance multiple projects simultaneously
Strong commitment, collaborative approach, and demonstrated strategic big picture thinking
Demonstrated sound decision making and good judgments
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment and individually
US citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance
MS degree in engineering
Project management experience
Experience with Navy marine systems development, military, and/or related Defense systems
Working Knowledge of DoD Systems Engineering Principles and Policies
Current/active DoD Secret clearance or higher
