AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a highly motivated Computer Programmer or Computer Developer, with the ability to comprehend client challenges learn technical concepts quickly, for a challenging position using data development and programming skills to support knowledge management within the Department of Defense (DoD).
This position is in support of the OSD Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) Joint Data Support (JDS) Division at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. JDS has an investment in computer applications (includes commercial off the shelf) and database collections. Information Technology (IT) expertise is required to support and maintain these tools and data. JDS’ products also include websites and other collaborative environments that are used to manage and disseminate data throughout the DoD. To maintain these sites, skills in web development, administration, and management are also desired.
Designing, implementing, testing, and deploying innovative software solutions and prototyping new ideas/technologies in direct support to analytical force planning requirements. These software solutions are used across a spectrum of assessment activities such as identifying, collecting, developing, analyzing, managing, and disseminating historical, current and future years military force inventory, capabilities and deployment data. These data are vital to collaborative study teams led by the Joint Staff and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), informing future force investment strategies.

- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field.
- 3 years of experience in knowledge management, with 1 or more years supporting government efforts desired
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with multiple functional groups
- Possession of excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency/working knowledge in the following technical skills:
- .NET Core or .NET Framework experience (C#)
- HyperText Markup Language (HTML)/Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- MS SQL Server
