About the Job
Timekeeping (40%) Maintains the timekeeping system. Answers questions and requirements about attendance. Process new/term employees and ensure employee’s information into system is correct. Verify hours and troubleshoot any attendance discrepancies or pto requests before sending file to Accounting for payroll processing. Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, sick leave, FMLA, etc for employees. Check data for recording errors. Ensures employee’s time is recorded correctly. Oversee the Keri access cards.
Benefit Administration (40%) Administers and maintains company benefit and 401 (k) retirement programs. Informs and guides employees on benefit and retirement matters regarding eligibility, coverage and provisions. Compiles and maintains benefit / retirement records and documentation. Coordinates and makes sure Open Enrollment and 401(k) meetings are held and run smoothly. Develops procedure to ensure ACA compliance.
Administrative Assistant (20%) Performs administrative tasks for Chief Strategic Officer (CSO) as needed.
May perform other job related duties as necessary for the efficient operation of SDMI.
MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduate or equivalent plus five years’ experience with timekeeping and benefit administration.
Experience with Kronos timekeeping system.
Experience with ADP.
Experience supporting and working with benefits in an ACA environment.
Have a thorough knowledge of the principles time/recordkeeping, benefits administration and records requirement.
Must use independent judgment, handle multiple priorities; interpret and apply laws, regulations and policies; work independently and use sound judgment.
Any employee who discovers, is directly involved in or is responding to an event/occurrence/risk is required to complete or direct the completion of an occurrence report within 24 hours of event/occurrence/risk.
My job performance, including current competencies will be reviewed by my supervisor on a periodic basis. If my job performance/ current competencies are not (or continue to not be) at required level this could result in additional training and/or disciplinary action.
Assume responsibility for updating knowledge of current SDMI department policies and procedures, protocol and practices.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality; interpret and apply laws, regulations and policies.
This position requires the ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees including top levels of management.
