The Department of Residential Facilities at the University of Maryland, College Park is currently seeking to hire a HVAC Chief: (Supervisor) Position #100789. This position is responsible for providing supervision and technical support for HVAC Mechanics, Steamfitter, plumbers, electricians and other workers within the Electro-Mechanical trades.
The HVAC Chief is a member of the Electro Mechanical section in Residential Facilities. The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for providing and/or arranging routine and emergency maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park’s Campus’ residence halls, Greek chapter houses and recreational facilities. The Department is responsible for 48 residence hall buildings and Fraternity Row chapter houses with just over 2 million square feet of space.
High School Diploma or GED AND Ten years progressively responsible experience in any combination of air conditioning, refrigeration, temperature control, steamfitting, stationary engineering, plumbing or heating trades. Two years of this experience must have included the supervision of journey level mechanics in these trades. Strong working knowledge of building automation systems, preferably Automatic Logic Controls and Staefa/Niagara Framework and Talon systems. Experience working in a facility of comparable size/scope preferred. Valid driver’s license with less than 6 points. Universal CFC Required.
