The Sales and Marketing Specialist for the Home Health and Day Program at Discover Goodwill will be dynamic in their approach to promote sales growth for Skilled and non-medical In-Home Care and an Adult Day Program. These services are designed to assist individuals gain independence and to improve the lives of our clients. S/he will build and maintain relationships with all appropriate organizations/groups that represent individuals with disabilities and seniors as well as all private citizens interested in purchasing services. The Specialist will proactively and systematically develop new direct referrals. The Specialist will establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in marketing areas.
The Sales and Marketing Specialist will initiate meetings with key interest groups, deliver dynamic presentations, and organize direct marketing and other promotional activities to achieve aggressive revenue goals. S/he will report to the Business Development Manager and will partner with internal teams to ensure deliver of top-quality programs. Incumbent will research companies and business environments to identify new customers.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communication or business management or related field. The equivalent combination of training, experience in sales or a marketing background along with a working knowledge of non-profit organizations is preferred; however willing to train based on the right personality fit. A valid Colorado driver’s license without a history of violations is also required with the ability to travel when required. Must have own transportation (mileage to be reimbursed).
The incumbent should be an ambitious and self-directed professional that can operate within proper guidelines. The incumbent should possess exceptional communication skills, presentation, negotiation and management skills, strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor. The incumbent should have advanced MS Office skills and must demonstrate competence in networking, target marketing to specific prospects, and have relationship building skills. The incumbent must be able to multitask and work independently or within a team and must possess well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
The incumbent will be expected to maintain confidentiality regarding agency and client records and information. Evening and weekend hours may be required when necessary as well as some travel to attend meetings and required training.
The incumbent must have the ability to interact with various levels of management, business, and community leaders. The incumbent must also have the ability to communicate effectively with the organization’s public relations department balancing marketing needs while promoting the organization’s presence and brand in the community.
The incumbent must demonstrate strong creative, organizational, and personal skills. The incumbent must have an excellent understanding of the Colorado Springs market. In addition to the competencies listed below, the incumbent must have the ability to demonstrate a high level of energy, innovation and assertiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The Specialist will achieve forecasted sales by following the agreed upon written plan of action. The Specialist will develop and maintain prospect and customer lists based on strategic marketing data and other sources. Maintain current, competitive pricing and competitive analysis data. The Specialist will understand departmental financial data to determine what is happening in the department by reviewing appropriate financial data that affects the assigned departments’ profit centers. The Specialist will provide account management to insure quality throughout.
Sales Program Management
The Specialist will establish strong relationships with the Managers/Directors of the Family Services Division. The Specialist will work with these other Managers/Directors to develop coordinated sales plans and potential leads lists. Further, they will enlist these Managers/Directors in the preparation of proposals and will provide consultative sales solutions to all parties. Additional activities will include coordinating community events such as caregiver training, assist in Discover Goodwill of Southern & Western Colorado events and continually looking for new business opportunities.
The Specialist should be knowledgeable and confident in order to promote business development and sales. The incumbent should be able to develop prospect lists, schedule appointments, work qualified prospects through the sales pipeline, develop referrals and keep a database of sales contacts and notes. The incumbent will be measured by her/his ability to convert conversations into appointments, appointments into proposals, and proposals into closings. The incumbent should be comfortable with post-sale marketing.
The Specialist will maintain a working knowledge of customer service goals and instruments of measurement. The incumbent will understand customer satisfaction goals and develop appropriate plans that enhance these goals. The incumbent will provide information for meetings as a research and business development update to include current sales efforts, market trends, competitive analysis, and strategic positioning.
Employer Relationship Management
The Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with all employees, customers, vendors, outside agencies, and Discover Goodwill staff. The Specialist must also partner with internal customers by communicating changes in direction, implementation issues, and requests for assistance to meet sales goals.
The Specialist is responsible for developing and communicating sales standards and ensuring they are implemented and maintained. As an employee of Discover Goodwill, it is expected that the Specialist will seek opportunities to advocate the vision, mission, strategic plan and philosophies of Discover Goodwill of Southern & Western Colorado. The Specialist will stay abreast of sales trends, understand competition and learn about all areas affecting sales on a national and regional level. The Specialist will leverage opportunities to explain and promote the quality standards of Discover Goodwill. The Specialist will promote and set the standard for conduct and appearance in keeping with a professional working environment.
The incumbent will regularly meet performance targets outlined in the sales plan. The Specialist will provide accurate forecasts, updates, and produce sales reports for the Vice President.
