The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (Manhattan Campus) and New York University are seeking a BC Internist to serve as a hospitalist for the Section of Hospital Medicine. Candidates must qualify for an academic appointment at NYU School of Medicine.
This position is located at the Manhattan Campus of VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, a level 1a facility and referral center for advanced cardiac procedures, neurosurgical procedures, and advanced multispecialty care throughout VISN 2 and neighboring states. We are located only a few blocks from the other NYU affiliated hospitals (Bellevue and Tisch/Kimmel), so our medical service and hospitalist section is tightly integrated with divisional and departmental activities. The education and research programs span the NYU network for medical students, residents, and fellows. The Section of Hospital Medicine includes seven full or part-time physicians. The preferred physician will have board eligibility/certification; credentials sufficient for academic appointment at New York University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. As a hospitalist, you will be expected to provide comprehensive inpatient services to Veterans, excluding the intensive care unit.You will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a variety of diseases according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods and techniques.
