The ICU Director is responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning of a designated nursing unit or units on a twenty-four hour basis. The ICU Director is responsible for initiating, guiding, and directing the coordination of services provided by the designated nursing unit(s). Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of nursing staff. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by specified units. Makes decisions regarding patient care activities in area of responsibility. The ICU Director is responsible for the oversight of the departmental budget and management of staff.
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, education and training
- 3- 5 years of nursing practice with emphasis on leadership & management experience. Minimum of 3 years nursing management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; computer skills; Analytical skills; and basic finance to determine benchmarking in the department
- Current license as Registered Nurse in Texas. Certified in BLS the American Heart Association. ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
