This job will have the following responsibilities:
The Information Assurance/Cyber Security Specialist will:
Provide Information Security Controls and guidelines to nodes and network management systems.
Maintain network/system access and password controls.
Collate and analyze audit trail data.
Assess configuration changes for security impacts; assists in the development of alternate courses of action or implementation of resultant measures.
Perform system administration functions to include, but not limited to, documenting the security architecture.
Develop user security guidelines and SOPS.
Review security threats and determine/implement effective countermeasures IAW established policies/regulations/directives.
Analyze network or system changes/reconfigurations for security impacts (performs risk analysis/assessment).
Document security measures policies.
Perform functions as required in support of the DoD Instruction 8510.01 “Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT),” March 12, 2014 and DISAI 630-230-19 .
Perform assessment of present levels of cyber security, define acceptable levels of risk, train all personnel in proper cyber hygiene and establish formal maintenance procedures.
Perform privacy impact assessments and provide PII data security and monitoring and migration strategies.
Identify potential vulnerabilities to cyber and. information security using penetration testing and red teams.
Provide technologies for identification, modeling, and predictive analysis of cyber threats.
Position may require travel
