SE-V Instrumentation is looking for a Sensor Engineering manager to support all Pratt & Whitney military, commercial and industrial development engine programs. The Sensor Engineering manager will direct design and execution of all applied instrumentation tasks for test engines in three major areas: Instrumentation Planning and Egress Design, Sensor Applications and Assembly Support, and Engine Instrumentation Dress and Termination. The Sensor Engineering team is an integral part of the Engine Integrated Product Teams and must be able to handle rapidly changing requirements in a fast paced development atmosphere.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Manage sensor application and egress engineering teams based at CT and WPB campuses.
- Interface with instrumentation requestors, test engineers and other validation customers.
- Manage the creation of instrumentation installation, routing / egress and work instructions.
- Coordinate and oversee part level instrumentation installs as well as instrumented engine assembly by hourly, salary and outsource sensor applications technicians.
- Identify improvements to Engineering Standard Work (ESW) during execution of assigned tasks.
- Use of ACE to identify opportunities to improve tools, methods and processes used by all Instrumentation Sensor Engineers.
- Budget and scheduling input to Systems Engineering & Validation planners.
Qualification: Basic Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience with instrumentation
US Citizen due to program requirements
Ability to obtain U.S. Government Secret level security clearance is required
MS degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 1 - 3 of experience with instrumentation
Knowledge of pressure, temperature, strain and vibration sensors and/or Sensor Applications experience highly preferred. Experience in development of gas turbine engines and engine part repair validation processes preferred.
Excellent organization, communication and project management skills.
Good interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance is a plus.
