This lab assistant will be working with the techs and other scientists in primarily plating cultures, loading bloods on instruments, and specimen processing.
Other duties may include:
-Processing blood/urine/other specimens, accessioning, order entry, processing, testing, centrifuging or working with medical lab instrumentation
-Reporting of waived testing as allowed by organizational and CLIA guidelines.That would involve various technical and clerical functions, under the supervision of the supervisor or team lead.
Attention to detail and safety will need to be the main focus. Accuracy of testing and communication around processes is a must at all times, as one mistake could cause major problems for the staff and clients/patients at the facility.
-Plating and Streaking experience within a health care lab
-High School Diploma/GED
-Excellent Organizational skills
-Skilled within a health care lab environment
-Phlebotomy is 'nice-to-have', along with working in a large lab setting (i.e., hospitals, trauma centers, etc.)
