Responsibilities for the Laboratory Technician• Work under test engineer and lead test engineer for project. Conduct testing of medical equipment for verification and validation (V&V) testing, to system requirements and industry standards.
• Help to create or modify test cases for a product's test suite. Produce, analyze, and record test results. Work with R&D engineers to discuss results and resolve issues.
Requirements for the Laboratory Technician• Associate's degree or higher, and/or a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) certification.
• 2 years in product testing to standards and requirements, especially testing of medical equipment. 2 years using electronic test equipment, especially patient simulators and other biomedical instrumentation.
