The City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Land Development Specialist for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage. The incumbent will serve as the Green Infrastructure Specialist. This position will facilitate the City’s compliance with its National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit and consent orders from the OEPA by maintaining post-construction stormwater best management practices (BMPs). To comply with the consent order, the incumbent will work with the Blueprint Columbus Integrated Plan and use green infrastructure to reduce sewer overflows and improve stormwater quality. Other duties include: preparing detailed inspection reports, reviewing designs and maintenance plans for green infrastructure practices, and preparing contract documents for green infrastructure maintenance.
To qualify you must have a valid State of Ohio certificate as a registered Landscape Architect, Architect, or Professional Engineer. Substitution(s): Possession of a bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of experience in the planning, design, development, management, or construction of parkland, recreational areas, or stormwater infrastructure may substitute for the certificate. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary $56,160 - $84,275.
