HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a Lead Technical Writer with Air Force Operational experience and proficiency using the Air Force’s Task Management Tool (TMT) to work at the Pentagon with the Air Force A3T staff.
This effort provides process management of the revision of USAF training, operations, and doctrine publications to comply with USAF Chief of Staff Memorandum by providing AF/A3 publications and doctrines revision support to the Air Force Operations Directorate, Training and Readiness Division. This effort requires subject matter expertise (SME) support in process management, proof reading, and editing of documents for revision of USAF training and operations publications and doctrine. The objective is to expedite compliance with Secretary of the AF priorities by reducing the burden of unnecessary compliance on our Airmen and to ensure the USAF is clearly communicating policy and guidance.
The primary purpose of this task is to review and analyze Air Force training, operations, and doctrine related publications for format and accuracy and advise to:
1) Make guidance clear for Airmen using these instructions
2) Reduce the burden of unnecessary compliance on our Airmen
3) Ensure the USAF is communicating clearly.
These training, operations, and doctrine publications need to clearly articulate what the USAF is doing and why, both with our Airman and with the public. Airmen need to know what is required and why. The USAF is seeking to reduce the volume and specificity of mandatory training, operations, and doctrine related publications. The team assigned this work will coordinate the priority, proposed throughput schedule and coordinate with USAF subject matter experts assigned by HAF/A3TR. The government will provide the appropriate email accounts, computers and network access required to allow the team to properly coordinate with USAF stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Managing policy publication process, advising, and supporting the revision and restructure of all Air Force training and operations related publications and doctrine to in accordance with Secretary of the Air Force guidance
Review and analysis of USAF training, operations, and doctrine directives for format and accuracy pertaining to USAF training, operations, and doctrine publications needed to clearly articulate the USAF mission, with our Airman and the public
Assessment and reporting on regulatory publications and doctrine based on higher order analysis of lessons learned to include trends, observations, insight, and reference from subject matter expertise
Review and advice regarding updates to USAF training and readiness publications and doctrine to ensure compliance is clearly communicated to the USAF
Maintenance of current digital library (will not contain classified data) of training and operations directives and other publications as deemed useful to ensure timely review and priority on effectively communicating policy and guidance updates
Creation, maintenance, and tracking of administrative requirements for directive publication development
Staffing of updated publication using the Air Force Task Management Tool
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum ten (10) years of demonstrated experience interpreting or editing major policy and procedural guidance documentation for the Department of Defense while conducting and understanding complex analysis and studies to support directors of staff and senior leadership including experience working Air Force related issues in relation to operations, training and readiness.
USAF operational expertise as an operator in a flying squadron to help guide the team to success.
Headquarters Air Force staff experience
Graduate of Air Command and Staff College, also known as the USAF intermediate service school.
Candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
Candidates will be subject to a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) prior to start date.
- At customer’s direction, Candidates without a current security clearance may be subject a Secret clearance (not required to start) background investigation.
