High school diploma or GED; training and/or related experience in semi-skilled carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, masonry, and ground maintenance.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass a medical fitness for duty examination including chemical dependency test; must pass criminal background check; valid driver's license with less than six (6) points on BMV report; must possess and provide proof of current auto insurance coverage pursuant to agency policy; must complete all Public School Works employee training as per Employee Safety Training Guide (may be acquired after employment).
JOB DESCRIPTION AND WORKER CHARACTERISTICS:
Performs maintenance, repairs, and remodeling of building and equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, electrical equipment; plumbing equipment, sewer pipes, water lines, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, valves, faucets, toilets, heating and air conditioning equipment, etc.); performs preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.
Performs carpentry work (e.g., repairs and maintains buildings, equipment, floors, partitions, furniture, etc.); performs maintenance and repairs of masonry edifices and constructs; paints and patches walls.
Maintains grounds (e.g., sweeps sidewalks, removes trash and debris from lots, shovels snow, mows grass, trims trees/shrubs, etc.).
Communicates with supervisor to coordinate maintenance and repair efforts. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
