Metal Coaters® cleans, pre-treats and roll applies organic coatings in a continuous process on hot-dipped galvanized, Galvalume®, cold-rolled, electro-galvanized and aluminum coil. Pre-painted steel and aluminum coil is used in a wide variety of construction applications such as pre-engineered wall and roof panels, architectural building panels, agricultural wall and roof panels, garage and entry doors, door frames and commercial or manufactured goods such as acoustical ceiling grid, light fixtures, closet hardware, consumer electronics, office furniture and appliances. The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for safely performing a wide range of maintenance and electrical duties to emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure. The Maintenance Technician I responds to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an unplanned production
line breakdown. The Maintenance Technician I effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to complete repairs in a timely manner, thereby contributing to the productivity and customer satisfaction. The job will entail using test equipment and instruments, various hand tools, various portable tools, including power tools, cutting and welding equipment, handling equipment, blueprints, sketches, PLC Ladders, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
for safely performing emergency and preventative repairs to plant
machinery and infrastructure.
for responding to work instructions from the Maintenance Group Leader,
respond to emergency or breakdown calls.
Diagnosing problems, dismantling and replacing defective or worn
parts, testing of all repairs after replacement before turning over to the
for performing assigned preventive maintenance, cut weld and fabricate as
needed on projects.
for electrical work with proper PPE in accordance with rules and
regulations set forth by OSHA and NFPA 70E (National Electrical Code).
for responding to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of
an emergency breakdown. Effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to
complete repairs in a timely manner.
for the cleanup of Maintenance and work areas where repairs are performed.
for the safe and prudent use of company equipment and tools. Also, ensures
a safe work environment by utilizing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and
reporting any unsafe condition.
the Maintenance Assistant or Maintenance Group Leader when supplies have
been removed from stock and require replenishment. Provides ordering
information for replenishment of stock.
to the Maintenance Group Leader or Production Leader during off-shifts and
duties include but are not limited to, plumbing, concrete work, digging
and climbing to elevated heights and/ or working in high temperature areas
and confined spaces.
for understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated
with the Quality and Environmental Management System in place at Metal
daily with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control in order
