Essential Job Duties:
The Facility Maintenance Technician functions as a member of the Campus Enterprises team to provide oversight for the following systems including primarily BAS and HVAC. Also provides guidance to others for installation, troubleshoot, repair, maintain operation of heating, venting, air conditioning and refrigeration systems (HVAC/R) and the associated auxiliary equipment, controls, components, and hydronic systems that would be found in a commercial, industrial or large university setting. This position requires a highly skilled tradesperson working at the highest level of professional experience with a strong proficiency in electrical, plumbing/pipe fitting and general building maintenance as required. This position will serve as the lead Facilities Maintenance Technician and provide daily guidance and direction to two SHRA positions.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s). Optional Guidelines: Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Departmental Required Skills:
Knowledge of local, state and national codes pertaining to the trades assigned. Technical training in HVAC/R trade. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally with supervisors and the general public. Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions and other communications regarding work assignments and other matters. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Mechanical or Building automation engineering graduate with 5-7 years of multi trade experience with a concentration in HVAC/R, electrical and plumbing strongly preferred. Universal CFC Refrigerant certificate 5 years experience in the operation, troubleshooting and repair of building automation systems and controls.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications:
HVAC controls Driver's license required
