Coordinate and supervise the operation, renovation and repairs of maintenance, construction, environmental, building and grounds for Facilities & Support Services for Hazelden, Center City. Manage department’s operational and capital budget, energy management, security, safety and asset management. Ensure compliance with federal, state, county, city codes, environmental, health and safety standards. Oversee contractors for outsourced services. Provide technical resources to other Support Services Managers as needed. Work closely with Corporate Director to develop Master Facility Plans and Strategic Facilities Plans. Provide departmental direction and oversight to support services integration with corporate initiatives.
- Assure that Environment of Care (EOC) standards are met and in place in preparation for audits from regulatory agencies
- Provide effective leadership and direction for sustainability activities
- Function as the facility's safety officer
- Manage the automated work order/preventative maintenance functions using My Workspace
- Coordinate and provide support and direct supervision for campus renovation and construction projects
- Ensure that department budget resources are properly allocated
- Supervise daily operations of maintenance, repair, installation, and testing
- Effectively communicate information to all personnel
Required Qualifications:
- Vocational or technical training
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and equivalent work experience in mechanical, electrical and industrial engineering/facilities management
- 5+ year’s experience with facility maintenance (in a healthcare facility desired)
- 2+ years demonstrated successful leadership experience in facilities operations
- Current driver’s license
- Experience with Joint Commission requirements
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents; some examples include leases, contracts, architectural drawings, and construction documentation
- Ability to write reports, manuals, policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or customer needs from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management
- Ability to develop capital and departmental budgets including labor and non-salary expenses.
- Knowledge of budget processes applicable to organization of facilities department in compliance with organizational goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1st class C engineer license or B license
- Class D water operator’s license and certified pool operators certificate
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical contracting, energy mgmt, preventative maintenance systems
- Current CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager) or related licensure
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS)
- Knowledge of EPA refrigeration, ability to obtain MN Class C Boiler license
- Operational knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
