Job Title: Master Planner II
Location: Smith & Nephew, Inc., Austin, TX
Job Description: Lead global supply chain activities for assigned product portfolio to optimize inventory, minimize cost, and set and achieve customer service goals, including forecasting, capacity planning, execution oversight, and monitoring and reporting of results. Lead meetings with key departments including, Demand Planning, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing and Product Development, to develop an accurate and timely master production schedule. Lead the planning process for new product launches during the pre-launch phase. Manage product phase-outs such that obsolete inventory is minimized. Establish and continuously modify safety stock targets. Leverage Lean or Six Sigma tools for process improvement in order to increase service and optimize inventory. Review and recommend capacity loading on assigned production lines and forecast. Provide oversight of manufacturing, inventory deployment and distribution to ensure customer service. Conduct analysis and recommending solutions for inventory allocation where worldwide service is maximized. Must have work experience in each of the following: 1. Technical understanding of statistically-derived safety stock calculations; 2. Working master production schedule model to give accurate calculations; 3. Understanding distribution requirements planning logic for making adjustments to build requirements at manufacturing sites; 4. Leading global inventory planning stocking strategy and safety stock levels; and 5. Advanced Excel including Vlookup, pivot tables, complex formulas and graphs. Must possess bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business, or finance and five (5) years of experience in supply chain planning.
