The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking an additional faculty candidate for the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine. VCU is committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical, translational, and basic research. Academic rank is commensurate with prior experience and interests.
Physician investigators with a successful record of accomplishment and experience are encouraged to apply. In addition, our environment is ideal for the career development of junior faculty just out of fellowship or early in their career in academic medicine. The division currently has five ABOG certified MFM specialists engaged in active high risk obstetric practice, ultrasound, and prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy. The AIUM accredited ultrasound unit currently performs over 4500 scans per year using state of the art 3D/4D equipment.
Support for new faculty, research space, start-up funding and protected time are available. The successful candidate will be part of an expanding academic MFM Division in a collegial atmosphere located in a very attractive city. Richmond, Virginia is a state capitol and major urban setting supporting all cultural activities while still being family friendly and comfortable. Candidates must have completed an ABOG certified fellowship. Candidates also must have demonstrated experience working in, and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as faculty member at VCU.
