1 year experience as a technician, bilingual skills needed, good communication and customer service skills.
To provide general assistance to the pharmacists in filling prescriptions for CDB Clinic patients and Walzem pharmacy patients and with day to day operations of the pharmacy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Assist pharmacist in performing duties in filling prescriptions.
B. Type labels, quote prices, write receipts, count and pour, and take prescriptions information from SPMC clients.
C. Clerical functions include pricing prescriptions, ordering and checking in merchandise, price changing, inventory monitoring, print and add daily Rx logs, copy various reports and send to appropriate personnel.
D. Keep pharmacy shelves, fixtures and medications bottles neat, clean and orderly.
E. Ensure pharmacy is well stocked with child-resistant vials and bottles for dispensing.
F. Cash handling duties: accepts payments (cash, check, credit cards) from patients and issues receipts.
G. Other financial duties: charge prescription prices to appropriate program or third party payers.
H. Abides by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Centro del Barrio Infection Control Manual.
I. Abides by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Handbook.
J. Participates in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
K. Abides by all safety policies as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual.
L. Perform other pharmacy related duties as assigned.
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Pharmacist-in-charge using the Performance Evaluation CDB Form No. 1006c (Rev. 2/94) wherein a satisfactory overall rating is considered as a minimum acceptable level of performance.
A. Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
B. Experience: One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred and formal training as a Pharmacy Technician plus Certification (State Board of Pharmacy)
C. Other: Computer experience/Good Communication Skills/Great Customer Service Techniques State PTCB certified and State Board of Pharmacy Certified with at least 1 year of experience in an independent or retail setting. Bilingual is strongly encouraged however not mandatory. Must have good communication skills with patients, peers and providers. Good data entry skills, computer based knowledge skills and multitasking required.
A. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position.
B. Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.
C. Must be able to stand for long periods of time as position requires.
D. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
E. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
