The Dimensional Coordinator supports Manufacturing by performing CMM programming & operation, fixture calibration & maintenance, certification & maintenance of all instruments, gauge layouts & organization, GR&R, MSA studies, SPC analysis, part layouts and systems support for QA and other department requirements.
Ability to program Blue Light Scanner & CMM (HEA Gantry) to accurately measure / scan components, parts, fixtures with ability to compare measurements to dimensions on blue prints and overlays Adhere to customer & TS16949 standards & methodologies Ability & understanding of how to blue and scribe parts, generate CAD from scan data, provide tooling sketches for fixtures and perform part layouts Able to complete fixture calibration, gauge R&R Studies, Correlation Studies, SPC Studies, Capability Studies, including reporting status on routine basis Understands the requirements of MSA and responsible to ensure all the requirements have been met Able to Certify all engineering changes and update fixture database and inspection programs Ability to create clear and concise technical reports for all functions as required Proficient in inspecting and measuring parts for conformance with specific dimensions, using precision measuring instruments such as Blue Light Scanning, CMM, Optical Comparator, Height Gauge, Micrometers, Thread Gauges, Fixtures, Microscopes, etc…
Knowledge and Education
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, etc… Post-secondary education in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience required (previous CMM programming and scanning experience is required as well) Must have strong programming and operational background of DEA Delta HA CR overhead Gantry Co-ordinate Measuring System Must have strong background and experience in Automotive Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP and Quality Assurance Strong technical background and experience in metrology, Blue Prints, GD&T, SPC, GR&R, Check Fixtures and CAD Previous experience in software such as Polyworks, Wave, Cognex Opti-Cell, Adobe Pro, CAD, etc… Good reporting and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD, spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.) Must possess good mathematical skills, experience in geometry and trigonometry Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements and with variable workloads Must be able to interact effectively with other team members Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact Understands and exhibits good 6s and housekeeping practices Strong liaison, Supplier Quality and communication skills with both customer and supply base Keeps all records in logical and easy to retrieve/find record keeping process Strong organization skills with ability to schedule their own work to meet needs of their customers Able to lift up to 40lbs without assistance Able to maintain punctuality and good attendance records Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
