Perform Incoming, First Piece, In-process and Final inspection tasks. Select product samples per the applicable Sampling Plan for receiving and final lots. Inspect incoming raw materials and components, including processing operations in from plating, heat-treating, thread rolling or similar sub-contracted processes. Verify that the part or process performed conforms to the blueprint, Work Order instructions, Engineering Specifications or process sheets and other applicable specifications. Review Purchase Order instructions or specifications called out to confirm that parts, packaging, identification and special notes are in compliance.
Confirm that supplier material certs, statistical data, First Article Inspection Reports are complete and accurate. Prepare and test samples for hardness using Rockwell Hardness testers. Dimensionally inspect the components and populate the History Cards with variable data. Prepare and identify non-conforming samples for return to tier one suppliers. Return samples and documentation to their respective jobs ensuring lot integrity.
Perform inspection on Final assemblies in preparation for shipment to Customers. Confirm that customer requirements have been met, review and approve Certificates of Conformance when required. Identify and record non-conformances and prepare rejection notices for the Material Review Board.
Use a variety of measuring instruments such as, but not limited to, micrometers, toolmaker's microscope, calipers, optical comparators, thread gages (plug, ring, 3-wire), and a variety of gages (height, depth, plug and thread roll), Rockwell Hardness Tester. Must be familiar with Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience with Syteline MRP system is preferred.
Must be safety conscious and use safety equipment in a responsible manner. Responsible for cleanliness of immediate work area and participate in 5s activities
