The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, training, and motivation of employees involved in quality related activities such as the inspection of implantable products, purchased instrumentation, return products, product release, receiving inspection, etc.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
All quality assurance function, including inspection and disposition of product.
Resolve labor complaints and grievances in the first stage.
Assist personnel in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, and Product Engineering the analysis of quality problems and determination of corrective action.
Perform failure analysis to determine cause of product failure or processes issues and ensure immediate containment and corrective actions are implemented.
Assist the Quality manager in interviewing and hiring people needed to maintain a work force adequate to control the product.
Audit personnel for the quality, accuracy, and consistency of their work. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and assist in audits (internal and external).
Assist with Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineers and or product engineers to determine gauging and measuring needs.
Train new inspectors in system and procedures, use of specific gauges and measuring equipment, sampling attributes data recording and reports, as applicable
Review deviations reports for completion and accuracy.
Assist department work load and assign manpower as required.
Assist the department manager in preparing departmental budgets.
Assist in preparation of detailed inspection planning and instruction sheets, as applicable.
Report daily productivity metrics as define in the areas of responsibilities and drive continuous improvements actions.

Ability to leverage knowledge of orthopedic manufacturing processes and products to drive continuous improvement not only in the specific area of functionality but also across the organization.
BS in technical field or in another area with relevant certifications is required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5-7 years of quality experience or a combination of manufacturing and quality experience.
Comprehensive understanding of Quality Control Systems; problem solving skills using quality and statistical tools; interpersonal skills including cooperation, diplomacy, and tact; ability to coach and develop team
