Position Title:Quality Technician
Department:330- Test & Inspection
Organizes all plant gauging, executes incoming inspection for vendor material, performs internal quality checks, process audits and studies as determined by the quality manager.
Support plant management in operational goals and objectives.
Support engineering through technical studies and input as required.
Monitors and communicates First Pass Yield, Scrap, Customer Compliant returns.
Performs receiving inspections on vendor supplied material.
Communicates results to vendor when necessary.
Works with quality manager to identify gauging requirements for measured characteristics.
Tracks, identifies, organizes and orchestrates calibration of all plant measurement equipment.
Works with qualify manager to establish sampling plans, AQL’s and frequency schedule.
Performs process audits and required by the quality manager.
Performs first article inspection off of CNC machines as defined.
Organizes all quality paperwork (inspection records, certificates, calibration records, etc.)
Is a team member in problem solving initiatives.
Other duties as assigned by the quality engineer or quality manager.
Candidate must have an Associate’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Technician or related field with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments.
Use of Optical comparator, profilometer and other measuring instruments required.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficient verbal and written skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – especially Excel and PowerPoint.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and results driven.
Be able to adjust to changing environments.
ASQ Certified Quality Technician a plus.
Requires continual standing and walking on shop floor.
Requires repetitive upper body movement – inspection, keyboard and monitor use.
