Walden Street School is a 32 bed therapeutic residential program for adolescent females ages 12-22 for students who have behavioral, cognitive, and emotional needs. Our students work with staff members on how to build safe, healthy attachments, work on skills to help identify and regulate their emotions, and start to build a sense of self through activities and programming targeted at their strengths and interests.
The RN position is a 5-day, 40 hour a week position working closely with our students, departments, and treatment teams in providing medical care and oversight for our students and their needs. The positon includes transporting students to appointments in the community, setting up mobile providers to come into the program, track appointments and needs, writing up treatment reports and presenting on students struggles and strengths each quarter, administering medication and documenting appropriately, training non-medical professionals in proper medication administration and documentation, attending staff and department meetings on a weekly basis, on-call bi-weekly in a rotation with the other RNs.
Schedule is Sunday-Thursday with a minimum of two evening shifts (2nd shift) required.
- Driver’s record check is able to pass in order to be able to transport students to appointments
- Hold a valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents for minimum 1 year preferred
