Centerpoint Program, a division of Justice Resource Institute, is an Intensive Residential Treatment Program Facility in Tewksbury, MA, for adolescents’ boy’s ages 13-18 years. Its primary mission is the treatment and rehabilitation of adolescent males with mental illness who have demonstrated a limited capacity to manage intense emotions in safe, socially acceptable ways.
Through our comprehensive and individualized approach to treatment, Centerpoint offers each resident the opportunity to gain control over those behaviors that have had a negative impact on his relationships and his life.
We are currently seeking full time applicant interested in working with adolescents in a secure Residential treatment facility. Responsibilities will include providing support and structure to residents while maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
Support and follow all Treatment Team decisions. When assigned as a Key Staff or Student Advocate: Complete student assessments as assigned. Provide information to the Treatment Team through the Treatment Team Meetings regarding behavioral data, special plans, and specified goals and objectives as assigned. Monitor progress of students in meeting Individualized Action Plan goals and objectives. Adhere to program’s Philosophy Statement regarding the elimination of restraint. At the direction of the Supervisor, participate in de-briefing activities following an episode of restraint or seclusion. Implement all program rules and policies consistently, uniformly, and fairly; utilize positive feedback and behavioral consequences in accordance with program policy; set reasonable limits that reflect the student’s developmental and emotional abilities. Participate in the physical management of out-of-control students engaging in dangerous behaviors when required. Actively participate in the de-briefing process following an episode of restraint or seclusion. Provide therapeutic interventions to assist students in attaining the goals and objectives on their Individualized Action Plans. Assist the students in following the daily program schedule, including meals, homework, recreation, housekeeping, chores, and ADL’s. Support students who are newly admitted to the program or who are preparing for discharge. Assist students in understanding the rules and expectations of the program concerning their participation in the program and in their treatment. Providing support and structure to residents and maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. Candidates must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
Educational requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required
Experience: Residential program or mental health program experience preferred; experience working with specialized populations of adolescents preferred.
Background Check: Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check
Maintains valid driver’s license. Able to drive 8 passenger van. Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as necessary. Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment.
