Our Premium Commercial Roofing Systems customer is looking to hire a Superintendent to work on a permanent basis, based out of their Norcross, GA location.
1. Project Review
Review job folder, it should include: client’s contact info, scope of work, detail drawings, P.O., any special instructions relating to addendums or changes, quality control checklist, job address and start date, and notes for materials needed from office
Thoroughly read scope of work and make a list of any questions for PM
Prepare for hand-off, make a list of all questions for Project Manager
Attend pre-con meeting with PM as required.
Do walk through with PM making note of any strange terminations
Count all curbs and flashings to verify with paperwork
2. Materials and tools
Read over PO to prepare for receiving materials
Review list of items needed from the shop and put on a pallet
Locate any special tools needed and add to pallet of materials
Pick up any materials needed from local suppliers
3. Walk through and receiving materials
Walk through job site a second time with PM and Foreman to review scope of work and any notes made from initial visit and hand-off to include any areas that won’t have a typical termination
Receive materials and check against P.O. following up on any discrepancies immediately( MUST DO)
Verify that materials are getting spread out correctly
Get measurements for any counter flashing, skirt flashing, scuppers (if possible), clad metal, or edge metal needed and email to your PM
4. Daily tasks
CHECK THE WEATHER first thing in the morning, then check multiple times throughout the day and communicate with PM
Check in with PM each morning and make a plan for the day
Review plan with foreman and attend morning meeting (that the foreman runs) to relay plan to crew and Toolbox Talks if necessary
Over communicate through Slack/email/text/phone call
Gather plates and fasteners or adhesive needed for the day and place them close to the work area
Oversee work from the foreman and crew for the day to make sure Ideal standards are being upheld (reference the scope and details)
Check over details as they are finished
PROBE, or have a crew member probe but check behind them if you aren’t probing yourself.
Get pictures of the progress
Count materials left at the end of the day and fill out the daily report (both sheets)to send to your PM
At the end of the day make a plan with the foreman for the next day’s work and mark off the area
Assist Project Manager with anything that needs to be done.
